I have a 1978 Cobra with the King Cobra wheels. How is the center piece decal taken apart or off? Anyone have pictures or have a thread about how to deal with it? I haven’t been able to find anything on this. I tried smacking it on the backside with a hammer and all I did is break the glass on it.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you

I never took one apart, but if I remember correctly it looked like it had a rivet or something similar on the backside. The "ball" looking piece underneath. I think that's what secures it. Maybe someone else has a better idea than me....?

Go on the inside and pry the tabs back a little then push the center out the back. Once out, you can use pliers with tape on the jaws to move the tabs back further to get centers back in. You can epoxy or gently bend the tabs back to secure the center in. I've reconditioned the red pony centers for my Ghia, luckily my King ones are in good shape.
