Hey, Just bought a 1990 Mustang over the winter want to put wider tires/wheels can i fit cobra wheels 17X9 with toyo 255/40/17R on the rear?? Thanks

93 Cobra 17" turbine style rims, or Cobra R's? Weren't the disc brake rear ends on the 93 Cobras slightly wider than the stock drum brake rear ends? If so, I'd think that the 93 Cobra rims and tires you're proposing would work fine on a drum brake rear end.

Its the cobra r wheels that i was looking at... there 17X9 for the rear... is it going to fit snung or am i gonna have alot of rubber sticking out on the sides if i put 255's on them??

For a 17x9 wheel, 275/40/17's work the best.....but 255's will be okay.

You are forgetting the important details. What offset and backspacing? Are they from a popular manufacturer? Probably are, in that case, they will work fine in either 24mm or 36mm offset. What are you using for rear axles? This all makes a difference in fitment, seeing how the Fox wasn't exactly made for large wheels.
