It's finally time, the lump is worn out. No oil pressure at idle when hot, and barely anything at higher RPM's.

I'm ordering the Motorsports 345 HP motor. Should make quite a difference! Many other track upgrades going on as well. The cobra seems to be slowly morphing into a track car.

I'll keep you posted on the details, there will be a motor-changing party for anyone here on the East Coast!

hey Dan, be sure and let Pakrat know if you want to sell the old 5.0, he's been planning on building a 347 for his vert at some point in the next couple years and that would make a great platform for him to build on, plus he'd be able to keep his matching number motor as is for re-install later on down the road.

Hey, that's a good plan, Ben. Pak can then say he's got a former race car motor in the 'vert.

Dan, he'd probably sweeten the deal with a slightly used set of Farberware......

My plans were to have Deanna tear down the old motor, so she can see what goes on inside a motor. THEN Pak can have it.


I wonder how many Farberware plates a cylinder head can crush?

I don't know, but I SWEAR the Chinette plates, platters and plastic utensils I stock piled (for my family gathering this weekend) have been conspiring against me.......I can hear the rustle of their wrappers as the mutter to themselves in the late afternoon......................

and last Saturday night (my one night off this week....) I could swear they kept whispering, "Turn 9, That's the place, Turn 9, Turn 9, Turn 9..........."




I should be safe now though. My brother mailed me a WMD* for this weekend.
*Weapon of Mollusk Destruction.......aka clam knife
Just wait until the 20 or so lobsters find out we're not really taking them to the circus after all.

An Armco?????

Give me my 12-gauge any day for a house gun. "Oscar" only carries 6 rounds; but each squeeze sends a dozen .315 cal pellets downrange. Or 68 times a combo of .20 cal and .14 cal pellets in a buffered "2x4" round; or just one .50 cal slug in a sabot.

The Armco might be fun in an open-range scenario, though.

EDIT: Oops, my bad. You meant the wall, not the "squirt-gun"! I'm bopping back and forth between here and another forum; got my "pastimes" intermingled Maybe I am losing it......

EDIT AGAIN (Just to 'jack the thread back on-topic): The new mill sounds like a lot of fun, as well. Questions: Is there going to be write-up published? If so, will it be in Hemmings or where?
