my car got hot today and threw a check engine light. i put the code reader on and nothing came up in on-demand codes, but a 64 popped up in the stored problems. anyone tell me what a 64 means and if it relates to my overheating?
That means there is a problem in the air charge temprature sensor circuit. It is probally internally shorted but it can also be a wiring problem, but chances are it's the sensor. It is located in the lower intake manifold.
iat sensor
test with ign. off disconnect iat sensor and measure resistance across the sensor connector terminals if the reading for a given temperature is about that shown in the table below iat is good if not its bad and replace... View attachment 469865
