Code #P0441 anyone have this?????

I have a 2001 mustang GT with the 4.6L, i am getting the engine light on and when i read the codes it comes up as a P0441 "Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow". It doesn't run any different, i was told it might be the gas cap so i replaced it and erased the code and it came back a couple days later.
Has anyone else had this code and know what it takes to fix it?

P044x codes are difficult to diagnose.

However, without actually looking at your car, I think your problem has to do with the Purge Solenoid and Purge Flow Sensor. it could be that the solenoid quit working or the flow sensor is not reading properly. Either way, if you replace one, replace both and replace the hoses connected to them at the same time.

I had a Ranger that threw P044x codes for about 2 years, I finally replaced the purge solenoid and flow sensor and associated hoses and the code went away.

If the problem was the gas cap or a cracked hose it would have thrown a code indicating a leak. A general leak would throw a P0440, a small leak would throw a P0442 (possibly a P0456) and a large leak would throw a P0455.

Given that your car threw a P0441, I would start with your purge valve and flow sensor.
