I now have a code scanner and checked my car out last night. With the key on and engine off I got code 96. With the car running I got code 91.

*96-Thermactor Air System problem-right(passenger)side air flow not bypass. or, Fuel pump (fp) circuit failure. or, High speed fuel pump relay circuit failure. So what does this mean? In the morning when I 1st start the car it turns right over runs for a second or two then dies. But it only does this sometimes. I wonder if code 96 has something to do with it?

*91-Exhaust gas oxygen (ego) sensor-signal voltage always indicates "lean" either during engine run self test ("rich air/fuel conditions)or normal engine operating conditions. or, transaxle problem-shift solenoid 1 (ss1)circuit failure. So this must be why my check engine light comes on when I let off the gas going down steep hills on the highway?

Anyone have any ideas or experience with codes?

91 means your oxygen sensor is bad, if i remember right 91 is the "left" oxygen sensor, check out both of your o2 sensors and if there is a lot of black carbon build up on them then they probably need to be replaced
