Ok guys i pulled the upper intake off and found some 23 year old vac. lines. i put all new vac lines and all new gaskets and cleaned everything. The egr was comp. packed with carbon. I put it all back together started it up and took it for a drive and the idle is very high. It is at about 1800, but it runs very good now and rev's fast and sounds good. I pulled the plug off of the IAC and it droped it to about 1500. The car idle'd fine before. I also tried clearing the computer and nothing.

Im going to go run the codes and see if it pulls anything up and i will post again.

Also i forgot to mention, I relocated a brand new ACT to the intake tube.

You really need the KOER codes.

But it sounds like you have a vacuum leak for the high idle. Everything hooked back up vacuum wise? May need to do a Base Idle reset

yea i got every thing hooked up. How do you do an idle reset?

You have 2 small vac ports and 3 big ones. You have map, pvc, fuel reg.,heater, and i got the other big one under the intake blocked off.

I plulled the plugs on the salt and pepper shakers and they looked ok.

Base Idle Reset should be the same as the Idle Surge procedure here. Im new, so I can navigate around here good enough to find it.

Whats killing me is not being able to pull KOER codes. Those are the most important when doing diagnostics like this.

it wont do it. I dont know why. Well i got the idle down with the screw and now i have lost a lot of power. It doesnt rev as fast and at a WOT 1-2nd shift it backfired. Is my computer bad?

Ok so i ran the codes again and i got 71,81,82,11
with enginerunning i got code 91, But the code reader is showing that the engine is off.

for code 71 my book says ECM reinitialization detected on Cluster Control Assembly (CCA) circut failure

and it has another 71 that says Idle trackingswitch closed on Pre-position

Check your TPS voltage now that you adjusted the Idle via the Screw.

Honestly I have never ran across code 71.

Im gonna say 91 is an actual engine running code. Can you verify that the Driver side 02 is actually getting power?

Can you try the jumper method again and try and to pull the Running codes.

Code 71 is not a mustang code

Its a code that shows up in cars Digital style gauges, and were very common in 6 cylinder cars.

I had to ask someone else about this code.

This could really explain alot Brando.......

Thats probably because its a ECM from a 6 cylinder car......LOL

Ill bet you could go out and crank the car, and put a volt meter on each injector. Ill bet 6 are only firing. LOL
