Has any one looked into installing coilovers on top of a stock upper a frame?

Using the stock spring pocket to hold the spring and the stock upper shock mount to position the upper end of the shock.

Some type of cross bar to mount the lower end of the shock, mounted to the stock bolt holes.

Any comments?

Reinforce like TCP does

If you did it, you would have to have a reinforcement ring at the top of the shock tower like TCP now does. Shock towers had been cracking up there as far as I know. Not sure about the rest of it, but there's that.
