COIL OVERS: Good or Bad??

Coil overs GOOD or BAD for street use??? ... I have heard mixed feelings. I want coil overs for the adjustability. I like the idea of going to the track and raising your car. Or driving around slammed on a hot saturday afternoon in August. Let me hear what you guys think of COIL OVERS vs SPRINGS??
