Cold Air Intake 94GT

+1 on the $50 Ebay one. If you don't want the "blingy" look of a polished tube in there, paint it black. That's what I did. I like it.

what kind of paint did u use? im thinkin i wanna do mine black as well..

i also have the cheap 1 from ebay and i think that ist is really great... no problems, only thing i did was i chopped it, instead of it being a fenderwell.. works just as good...

Why would you want to draw hot air in from the engine bay:shrug: ? Colder denser air and better flow is what a CAI should be all about.

yeah **** it... it still works just as good to be honest... i still notice a difference from stock believe it or not... i just dont like the look of it going into the fender... maybe someday ill do it, but until then... itll stay as is...

+90 on random ebay CAI. The only thing a CAI will really do for your 94/95 mustang is give you a new sound to listen to. Power gains will be minimal, and not even noticeable. The other thing it will do is clean up your engine bay a bit, as the stock airway is cluttered and annoying

+1... thats why i didnt do a fenderwell, IMO, i dont like them... and u could pay 400 for a CAI and i personally dc what anyone says, u wont notice much....

reddy351, do u have pics of ur CAI?

Everybody has their idea of what makes a great mod :D

For me ... performance is usually more important than appearance :)

So ... I'll stick to performance with my input in this thread ;)

When talking about a true cai which draws in air from the fender .....

A lot of the time ... you use a K&N or similar type filter
therefore
If you do such a mod and were running the OEM setup

There should be no controversy ... a gain should be seen

As for cooler air producing more horse power

Again ... a gain should be seen

Important thing to consider here is ......
If the ambient temps are high ... so is the air that is drawn in :(
thus
One should not expect much ... if any ... gain :bang:

So you see ... it might work out that ......
you kinda get a two in one gain from a mod such as this one :)

I live in Texas ... and ... in the spring & fall when the evening temp falls ;)

My home made CAI does make a difference that can be felt :Word:

Some of you guys that live up North ...
maybe the difference won't be as noticable

dude just make your own. for about 30-45 bucks you can make your own and you dont have to worry about waiting in the mail on and best of all no shipping. even better you can say you fabbed your own that wil not get as hot as the metal one. it will also not have the 90 degree bend before the mass air meter and will probably out perform the ebay cai.

example of mine.

CAI does nothing on a stock stang except on a real cool night. Dont waste your money. Headers were another joke.

Now, on my Z28? Headers made a HUGE difference and CAI was good for 2 tenths HOT or COLD out. NOT so on the 5.0. It just did nothing worth the money for me.

You ever get oil getting blown onto the IAT because vac line that comes from the filler tube is in "front" of it?
