I went into a Mustang only performance place where all they do is COBRAS for the most part 5.0's and Roush's...the guy behind the counter says putting a cold air kit that bends into the fender well like most mustang kits will make you lose torque (10 lbs he said for me) because of the 90 degree bend...it also causes miss readings as well because of the elbow into the fender well and says the air doesn't flow through the sensor evenly which will make the car run lean...now I've ran my car and seen the car run cooler with the intake so I dont understand how the car runs cooler but loses power...so he mentioned he doenst no much at all about V6's he said tuning it doesnt make a difference and i should just drive the car and thats all...now I have no problem staying with or taking a stock Sn95 GT from a roll so I know something is being done right with my car...just want some input for the V6 owners that know performance from a personal stance and not just what you hear or read...mainly anyone with a V6 that has put there car on a dyno or used a Gtech reader before and after a install on a cold air or works doing this kinda thing

Haven't had it on a dyno, but my G-tech and the seat of my pants both noticed a bit of a pickup after I put mine in. I also had my Flowmasters installed at the same time. It certainly hasn't slowed down.. no loss of torque on mine. Also it slightly increased my fuel economy.. when I don't have the pedal in the carpet, that is.

hp gains from CAI are illusions

the air is just moving through a less obstructive material... and our filters are already sucking 'cool' air from the fender

cai are geared more towards import cars where the air filter more or less sits on top of the engine.

I will be getting my car ona dyno soon since theres a local place SNIPER TUNING which can do i think2 or 3 pulls at 65$ I believe so I only have the MAC cold air, Offroad Xpipe and Dual Flowmaster Deltaflow 40's on it rite now for engine mods not counting the Steeda tri-ax which just gives me my quicker shifts but I will post up numbers on my car to give a ball park for people not to take in consideration of temp. altitude and the rest of the lil things that make change but the dyno is a Mustang Dyne which from what I hear are better then other dyno setups but thats a diff topic...

In order to get an accurate reading, you'll need to hook your car up to the dyno and have 2 runs with out moving the car. 1 run for the cai and 1 run for the stock box. I'm also curious to see the gains of a stock box with a k&n filter in it.

Just getting 1 run won't say much since we won't have any base numbers to work with, and factory hp estimations are just that... estimations.

Adverse2Change- what all have you done to the car?
I'm very curious about the resulte- maybe it's just me, but it seems like noone ever dynos and tells.

It's in My Garage link. Reason why most people don't dyno, is that they are hard to find in some cases and pretty freakin' expensive. I'm going with some people at work to one and they charge $100/hour. Too expensive if you don't get other people to go in with you... hopefully it won't go over an hour.
