The AFM pipe is suposedly quite a good piece..I run the stock air box with K&N filter and it supplies MORE than enough to feed my combo. Basic BBK and MAC type CAI kits look great but provide no performance enhancement.

Stock box with a K&N works great for moderate power levels (friend's car runs mid 12s with stock air box). For more power, get a C&L 73mm mass air - they work well.

Personally I would try and use a stock air box and K&N panel filter if you have that available. If going with a basic CAI kit and not worried about extreme flashiness in the engine compartment then the Moroso CAI kit is great. Still under $100 and works great.

if you can't get your hands on a stock airbox, the cheap ebay ones do the same as the big name ones. But, although highly debated, i'd go with the stock airbox w/ K&N.

CAI is not a mod. It does nothing. Stick to what they told you and save your money. You will not notice a difference in performance.

CAI = cold air intake.

Stock air box = CAI = cold air intake.

Why buy one if your car came from the factory with one already installed?

Like a previous poster. Buy a larger MAF and T/B to help get more air into your motor... That is where your car really needs help.

Guess the previous owner opted for a WAI(warm air intake) and chucked the original. Damn gotta get a fender mount now. At least I'll have a better place to mount the msd...

Yeah but the good news is it's going to look great. 50resto sells the stock intake components.

I'd buy the MAC fenderwell CAI

ME I never bought it for a MOD... never thought it was .... and I damn sure never bought it to make for more hp !!!

The only reason I bought mine because I personally didn't like the look of the factory ugly a$$ hosing and how it looked. And if someone comes up with something better looking I'll "probably" buy that , but that just me.

Obviously we don't all see it in the same way and I can understand that. But if
aleborjas just re-read these 2 Quotes and they pretty much sum up what CAI is all about in my opinion, and after that do what you want to do.

any fender mounted filter will work fine
there isnt really an art to air intakes i mean all you need is a filter and a tube.
