Looking for some advice on MAF/TB combinations.

I have a 1998 Mustang GT 4.6 (2V).

Mild mods : MAC CatBack Exhaust, Power Pulleys, Modded Stock MAF, 70mm TB, Superchip, MSD Ignition, Taylor 10.5mm wires, MAC Cold Air Kit (w/ K&N in fenderwell), Tokiko Full Suspension.

It all started because I had some "surging" at idle and some loss of power. I completed a tune-up. I changed spark plugs (Bosch Platinum 4+), Fuel Filter, MSD Coils and Taylor Wires (just installed today), changed the IAC, cleaned the K&N filter. Car was running a lot better but still had a very little hickup at idle (a little surging). I upgraded to a Pro-Flow 85mm MAF (I was told by their tech support that it works very well with my setup). I can definitely feel the power increase (it is very noticeable) ... but ... idling is HORRIBLE. My surging problem is very bad and I am constantly getting the P1071 and P1074 DTCs. Bank too lean and MAF Intermittent Circuit errors. Mid to Top End is AWESOME. Idle ... forget it. As soon as I disconnect the Pro-Flow MAF idle goes back to normal. My MAF was specifically calibrated for my setup (including the MAC Cold Air kit). I went back to the stock MAF and everything was OK. Any suggestions ? I read a lot of other postings on these issues. Could I have a bad MAF sensor ? When I reverted back to the stock modded MAF (with a cut post) everything is fine (no DTC errors). I have an ODB-II software with a laptop so I can pretty much see the values for all sensors in real time. BTW, TPS is new and holding steady at 0.96V at idle. Any suggestions ? Much appreciated.

have you tryed rotating the MAF? this helps sometime, I've seen it help

on the type of cold air intake.. this can trow off the MAF readings.. just try turning the meter a little bit at a time,, and see if it brings the idel back..

Good luck
