I have an e303 cam new in the box and a set of twisted wedge heads (the pre 03 heads, basically the same). I'm looking to maximize the combo on top of a fresh 95 bottom end. It's not my daily driver, however once the cars done it will be driven quite alot. I'm looking for great useable power, not just dyno numbers here. The car has LT's, full exhaust, will have a good matching intake, the TFS TW heads, and some sort of cam. I may stick with the e303, however i'm not sure if it will match very well with the heads. I've built a few motors but none with any TW heads. Any suggestions would be useful :) Theres nothing wrong with the E, but I think theres more to be had with it.

Throw away the E cam for a custom one by Jay or Ed. Tell them you have stock pistons that are uncut (unless you plan to cut them) and then get you a Edelbrock Performer ported or a RPMII intake. I think this would be a pretty deadly combo for anyother H/C/I 5.0

This is going to be the broken record reply for this question. The reason is, it is 100% correct.

I found a few aluminum head based combos in my files :)

its interesting to see in that chart how much more power a TFS intake and a B31 cam made. I havent been into 5.0s in a while, so it's a refresher.

Don't go by the dyno numbers man. Build a combo that you know will run strong! Here is a good example...

final5-0's combo makes 293rwhp and 322rwtq. My combo was the exact same thing except I had a smaller Performer intake and a different camshaft and I made 328rwhp and 337rwtq. If I had to bet I'd say if you put his car on the dyno I was on he would make more and if you put mine on his dyno I'd make less. The dyno should be used ONLY for tuning purposes. Figure out what the combo makes by the times it runs at the track.

Another...

On the list final5-0 posted there is one that sticks out bad! 342cid w/ AFR 185 heads, pos Typhoon intake, and a crappy TFS stage 2 camshaft and they claim it made 397rwhp and 460rwtq through BBK shorty headers? Sure it did.

So don't get your hopes up because you heard a 302 car with a B cam made 430rwhp. Because more than likely if it sounds too good to be true it is.

I still stand by my combo I listed to you on the 2nd reply. And I strongly let me say...strongly advise you to pull the motor out and have the pistons cut so you can run more camshaft. Spin the 302 to 6,000-6,500rpms. I bet you make 340+rwhp.

Almost think I should send the heads off to a compitent porter, however I don't have the money. I can pull the motor, it's a play toy. Only thing is I'm worried about spinning a stock 302 to 7k rpms. Lord knows these motors aren't built great to begin with.

I don't see how you could take an all OEM motor to 7K

The roller lifters are too heavy for the wimpy and weak springs
