Common leaks for power steering

Sorry to be OT and more of a 'Talk' topic, but Toolwench I notice in your signature that you have quite a collection of good iron (and fiberglass) there :nice: :

'68 Fastback 347 (my baby)
'68 Convertible 302 (my cruiser)
'66 'Vette Convertible 427 (hubby's)
'69 'Vette 427 (project)
'92 Camaro (investment)
'00 Prowler (tons of fun)
'03 Viper (fast & fun, but it ain't got no chrome)
...And, yeah, I work on 'em, too...

re: steering.

Stanger53,

When I do replace the seats and the hoses will my local shop have everything in stock? .... Do you know what are common leaks for a 1967 mustang coupe automatic, pb and ps?

I just inherited a 70 Mach 1 and the PS system is in sad shape. I was told that the fluid will come out of the piston on the ram most often, beyond the usual loose fittings it's a common leak. I've got more problems than the ram, the hoses are out of place and the pump just doesn't look correctly bracketed; if it'll help I'll let you know what I find on my car when I crawl under it this weekend.

I found everything can be had at NPD online, and the correct stuff, too... for a price (actually not as bad as I thought). download the catalog, it's got drawings to help sort everything out. A good Haynes or Chilton book does wonders too.
