Comp XE268H Cams Info

Does anyone know how much horsepower these cams give? Any loss of low end torque? I know you have to replace the springs, but how will these cams do on a fairly stock/bolt on, daily driven 98 GT like mine? Because I one day want to go boosted, how do they perform with a supercharger? And also, do you install these in the same ways that you would install a PI cam?

BTW, I don't necessarily want to use these cams. I want the comp xe262h cams, but I never can find a good deal on those. I guess if the 268h cams perform fairly well with little loss of low end torque, I may go with them instead. I see good deals on on the 268hs all the time, and I'm curious as to how these would do vs. the 262h cams for a daily driven street car.

I've been reading some this weekend about these cams and I thought of something I hadn't thought of before.

People put the PI cams, upwards of .550 lift, in NPI heads all the time, don't put springs, and have no problem with them. The XE268H grind has only .500 lift, and some PI headed folks actually use the NPI cam grind to avoid changing the springs.

So with the NPI heads, would I actually have to change the springs? Will the extra few hundred RPM make that much difference on the stock springs? The PI heads have the same springs and, stock, they turn almost as many RPM as I would with the 268Hs. It just seems to me that the stock springs might still work fine with these cams.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I was under the impression most people ran stock springs on 268H's. No reason to rev it way out on a NPI head anyways.
