Got an 02 Mustang V6 5-speed that is completely dead.
The battery has been load tested and is fully charged. The starter and solenoid have been tested. All connections are good with no broken or frayed wires. I've power into and out of every fuse in the box. I've got power into and out of the ignition switch.
And the car is still completely dead. I have no idea what to check next. Any help would be appreciated.

So Steve, completely dead means no crank when you try starting?

Yes, that's what it means. I can jump the solenoid with a screwdriver and it will crank, but with no power anywhere else, there's no spark or fuel.

I have been over ALL the common causes for a problem like this backwards and forwards. I need help with uncommon causes. Maybe a hidden fusible link that the wiring diagram isn't showing me.

How is the CCRM? Im not exactly sure on the years but some have had problems with water damage to them. I believe that supplies power to the pcm among other important stuff

The What?
I've never heard of a CCRM. Is there another name for it? Where do I find it?

This is just a quick overview of it. Might need to do some more digging to see if this is your problem or not. A few mustang models had problems with water corroding some connections though im not sure if it would include yours

Im working on a separate issue on my impala ss (no crank). Turns out the ecm is not getting a signal that the car is in park, as a result it wont turn over! Thats what made me think of the ccrm on your car. Report back on what you find

Nothing I've read so far would indicate that the CCRM could cause complete power failure. I'm still going to take a good close look at it to see if there are any obvious signs of damage. Just in case.

Well what would be best is to see how the starting circuit works. Do you have access to wiring diagrams?

Maybe it's a problem with the PATS?

The only wiring diagram I've found is the one in the back of my Haynes manual and it's not very comprehensive. I need to look for a better one.

Yeah...those wiring diagrams are very basic, not detailed. Need to find whats in the starting circuit and start probing. Also, @LILCBRA suggested something to look into

I've had problems with the PATS system on this car before, but it never caused total power failure.

I also see that you had another problem from another thread with the ecu...is there some more to this puzzle that all of us need to know about?

Before the power loss, it wouldn't start for some reason. The check engine light was on so I checked diagnostic codes and got a P1000. My initial research indicated that it could be a bad ECU. That is when I made that thread.
After digging a little more, I found that the P1000 has different meanings depending on manufacturer. On Mustangs it just means that the ECM was unable to finish its diagnostic check.
I started investigating other possible causes for the no start and that is when the total power failure occurred.
I hooked up a good battery, everything powered up, I turned the key, the starter clicked and the power died. A few minutes later, the power came back on and I tried to start it again with the same results.
The power came back a third time, I tried to start it and the power died completely this time.
And here we are.

This is a lot more detailed than my Haynes manual. Thank you very much.
