Ok...I did get it running after advancing the dist as far as it would go (the vaccum can was hitting the goose neck) but I try to restart it and it would not restart at that point...I would think the that the dist would be off one or two teeth but I double checked the TDC and number #1 piston and it is dead on...Any suggestions....When it was running it idle a little rough but at the higher RPMs it was running great....

Alex,
Be safe in Iraq and if you need any parts for your Military ride, hit me up DSN 850-5047. I work for DLA and will make sure you aren't on foot patrol. Thanks for what you do, From a Vet.

All thanks for all the help. I found the problem. My son installed the timing gears while I was away and forgot a couple of things. The key in the key way was not installed and the pin on the camshaft as well. Not sure how the engine if turned over or even started but it explains everything....Go it running last night and just in time for me to get on a plane to head back to Iraq tommorow morning...I will leave the rest to my son to finish but at least we got it running....I told him to use this site if he runs into problems...all of you have been a great help...

Glad you found out what it was! Could have been bad if that car would have ran like that, might have ended up with some bent/broken valves! Anyway, at least thats one less worry while you are away, thanks for your service and come back safe!
