omg i just did my compression test on my 1990 5.0 lx with 165,000 miles on it!!! and every cylinder came up 155....i think thats good right??? what is everyones opinion on that??
it leaks alot of oil though..gaskets are shot..im replacing everything...
i was thinking about getting new heads?? think i should?? even i dont..it would be a good idea to replace the head gaskets right..just so they are new..i want the engine tuned up nicely...im sure they are "getting" bad..
also any other tests i should perform while my plugs are out???

155 is good. Still should do a leak down to really determine the condition of the rings and valve seating before throwing on heads and such. If you're not replacing the heads and the old head gaskets aren't leaking I wouldn't waste the time to replace them. Unless you just want to get a good look at the cylinder walls. While the heads are off clean all the crap off of the pistons and valves.

How do i do a leakdown test..i dont feel like going out and buying anythign again...my plugs are out right now..i have an air compressor..and the compression test gauge..can i just use them???
