Would a compression test be effected due to a high lift cam? I am wondering about the overlap and if this may cause false readings. Or am I wrong all together?
longer durationand overlap will drop the numbers a bunch. You want all the cylinders to be close to each other, but the PSI will be lower than with a stock cam.
I am sure it would effect the numbers some. You look for evenness, not the actual numbers unless they drop much below 90psi due to it taking 70psi of compression to cause combustion.
The reason I ask is because I am getting around 80 psi. I am using my dads gauge and he told me that at one point he had to replace the end with a different spring and pintle. So we are thinking that it may be a stiffer spring causing the lower numbers.
