I keep hearing how sn95 cars computers suck. Supposely they back the timing down between gear changes to keep T-5's from breaking. Anyone know if a chip helps one much... or a tuner of some kind? Just looking for some real numbers or times. Ofcourse if they sell it they are gonna have their own claims of hp gains. Thanks

I didn't think the tip-in retard was to keep it from breaking. I thought it was to just to smoothen out the shifts. I don't know about the usual chips, but you can get rid of it through a tweecer or eec tuner.

yea they started doin it because too many guys were bringing shattered transmissions back. Smooth shifting? When has ford ever done anything to benefit us?

A chip or tuning device can help with power or drivability issues or both.

Chip = use others knowledge of the SN95 pcm strategy

Tuning device = use your own knowledge

My findings as a Tweecer user.

There are other tuning devices out there which may require less knowledge but expect to pay more $$$ for them than EEC Tuner, Tweecer, etc.
