Computer reset?

I went to put the car into accesory mode today to get a cd out of the changer, and the clock was set back to 12:00 and the wipers were moving, when the switch was in the OFF position. Did the computer reset itself for some reason? The battery has not been disconnected. How should I go about fixing this?

bump... should I disconnect the battery for 15 minutes to let it reset? The car drives fine, it's just that the wipers will not turn off.

Common problem for the multi-switch in the stalk to go bad and cause wipers to work even when switched off.

I thought it could have been the switch itself but the turn signals both work, as does the washer fluid. How would I repair the stalk, or would I need a new one from good ol' Ford?

I believe that you need to replace the switch in the steering column. But you could just try jiggling it around

If this switch was broken, would the turn signals and washer fluid functions still work? I also heard it could be a part in the wiper motor.

I have the same problem only mine does the same with the blinkers, the work when ever they wanna work. I think I need a new swtich sounds like you do.... there like 44.95 on the internet.

yeah....my left signal only works if i hold it right b4 it clicks....on rare occasion it works after it clicks and i wont have to hold it anymore....is there a way to fix this or juss buy a new one??
