It has a Novi2000 kit, did right at 400 at the wheels.

I am concerned that it will shorten the life of the engine significantly, am I correct in that statement?

What will be the first thing to go, and what would you recommend I replace soon? (ie pistons, rods, bolts, rings.)

It has blower cams, but I do believe stock internals.

How many miles are on the car and how many miles on the kit? It shouldnt be that big of a problem on the internals so long as everything was done correctly. However, I am sure that the previous driver probably drove the piss out of it...something to think about. If its a good price though, w/ lower miles I would do it.

43k chassis, 13k install. MPH did it, and they're 8 minutes away from me.

Just want to cover all bases before I go in for the buy.

Um, yes I would definitely buy the car if it is a good price. As long it has a safe tune, you will be fine. Since it was done at MPH, I'm sure you won't have a problem, they seem to be one of the best mustang tuners around. Even if something does go wrong, I'm sure they'll back up their car. I say no worries and go for it. Wish I had a novi with 400 rwhp...

if you take it to the track every weekend or hit redline on a regular basis the engine might not last too long

if you drive it around normally everyday and keep it out of high boost it'll last just as long as a stock engine. it won't make too much boost under 3k anyway

I doubt i'll have much chance to use up 450hp on a daily basis. 180 scoots me along just fine right now.

Well....it's already build, so it'll take a lot of that headache out of the equation for you. Not to mention the MPH install and tune should give you some piece of mind. And with them living only 8-min away from you, you know you’ll always have access to their customer support. I'm the type that likes to build it myself, but If you like that turn key sort of thing it seems like a done deal.

What are you waiting for? If I had the cash, I'd buy it. MPH was all you needed to say. That car should have one of the safest tunes out there!

The bank will only give $13,500 for it, so i'm trying to see how I can get 1500 or so. If I can't, i'll just get a GT and make it a nitrous car like I planned.

Personally, I'd buy it, depending upon the supporting mod's. Why don't you give Tim a call to see what he thinks of the car, I'm assuming it's local and they did the work and a custom tune on it.

If it does break, you can take it over to Tims new shop and get that sucker rebuilt to take some punishment and use the true potential of that blower!

With money I don't have, brilliant idea.

I'll probably just pick up a GT to save all these headaches in the future.

just because its supercharged doesnt mean its gonna break right away. although mine did...but it wasnt done properly. the shorty headers were missing bolts and half a gasket, i had a vortech chip (bad) no fuel pump, the blower intake tube had holes in it and the IAT sensor was just dangling in the fender..real bad setup. it lasted a few thou then i spun bearings. with your setup id say MPH just by reputation alone you probably have a perfectly safe car. any issues theyd work out easily; but you shouldnt have any. drive the car, if it seems to not have any bugs i would def not pass it up. 13k on the s/c setup isnt that much. probably a frikken fast beast of a ride. why go for a wimpy 225rwhp compared to 400rwhp..although i guess after driving 2 vw beetles maybe question your manhood?
