I'm looking at used convertible s197 GT. A close by black 2006 shows
a control arm replaced in Feb? Snow/ice/curb? Dealer emailed a copy
of the carfax - this is the only issue (lots of regular maintenance
visits to Ford dealer on the carfax).

Lower control arm replaced
Alignment performed
Maintenance inspection completed
Battery/charging system checked
Oil and filter changed chassis lubricated
Fuel filter replaced

What sort of issues could be enountered down the road? Any signs of trouble I might be able to eyeball after a test drive? Tire wear, peeling paint
on shock tower etc. Link to ad - 2006 Ford Mustang - Cherner Brothers Auto Brokers Kensington, MD

Thanks!

If only the control arm was bent its sounds like a minor incident.
If they had of slamed into something hard it would have took
out the tie rod, tie rod/end, ball joint, strut and defnatly the tire.
Does it have one mismatched or new tire?
If it doesnt pull to one side or vibrate at high speeds your
good to go. No big deal.

Dealers replace the whole control arm when the balljoint goes bad. The stock balljoints actually do suck and there has been issues with noisy stock control arm bushings too - so a replaced control arm is not necessarily a bad thing. I had to replace mine at around 45k miles. I put GT500 arms on mine because they come with stronger balljoints.

The fact that a control arm was replaced does not unequivocally mean it was done because there was an accident or it got bent.
