Is it true that you can only install the 03/04 Cobra front if you have the 03/04 Cobra hood as well? Many of the online places that I have found which sell the front bumper have the **Note - You will need to install 03/04 Cobra hood for bumper to fit**

California Mustang has it, but they also state the above problem with the hood.

Is this correct?

You can fit the cobra bumper without the hood. I have a 03 cobra bumper on my ar now with the stock hood. If you get one put on, just make sure you let the body shop or whoever is putting it on that they need to make 2 new holes where the bumper attaches by the grill. Right under the hood you'll see where the bumper attaches (where the honeycomb grill is attached) and you'll want to make 2 new holes about 1/2 inch back (towards the engine). Thats one hole for each side. It will fit fine if you do that. i have no gaps.

he speaks the truth... my buddy did the same thing on his 03 GT, if you dont move it back then the top of the bumper rubs on the GT hood.

is there really a need? you mock up the bumper, drop the hood, measure, then mark two new holes that same distance away from the current ones, drill, mount bumper. what you are doing is actually pulling in the top center part inwards more to meet with the GT hood. yes, the cobra hood is a little longer (1/2") as is the bumper to give the front a more beefy profile.
