I wanting to buy pistons with high compression. Well atleast 9 to 5 with 60cc heads. All I can find is one's with floating pins. My ford 302 is stock. I want to use the stock rods. Can a machine shop make these rods accept floating pins or do I have just go buy some connecting rods and, get everything balanced. I dont want to do any balancing.

not sure about the pins but all pistons are different weights if you change anything in the rotaing assembly it will have to be blanced, or it will very quickly shake itself to death

The machine shop i took mine to decided to resize my stock rods and press fit my pistons on the stock rods... then it sat for a year before i had the cash to finish it. i took it to a different machine shop, and they yelled at me for letting them press fit the floating pistons on (i didnt know, i had the 1st place assemble the shortblock) but they said that floating were better for some reason... so i guess it can be done, i just dont know how good it is for the pistons... i bought the TFS 10:1 forged jobbies, and i thought that they had the choice wether to have them floated or pressed.

here: i dont know what block you have (302, 306 etc) but here are some that are press or floating

qty.
