Considering 96 Cobra Vert

Hi Guys: Am considering making an offer on a 96 Cobra vert, manual, 35K miles. Any special issues to look out for? What's the reliability compared to a GT? Thanks in advance.

well a friend of mine over here (the uk) has a 96 cobra non-vert as his dailey driver and hes had no issues with it! the both of us have even run our cars round the rockingham oval and no issues!

4.10's are the only gear ratio for these. I have about 5 buddies with these 96 cobras, timing adjuster, butterflies removed and they FLY!!! escpecially down the freeway! I have even seen them run away from vettes and those lil cars with the flashing lights on top.... did i say that out loud!

if it was well maintained, then I don't see why it would cause any problems?

and for cobras, 4.30 no less. go with 4.56 if you can .

my thoughts exactly. Jump on it, 96-98 cobras are great cars. However, didn't 96 have overheating problems? I know in '97 they upgraded the radiator in both the GT and Cobra, that might be something to keep an eye on.

I thought it was that Ford added a grill to the '96, and because of the overheating problems, turned around and deleted it starting with the '97. Making the '96 the only of the '94 to '98 body style to have a factory grill.

eh, im not sure. either way, there were problems with overheating that were remedied in '97

Yes ... check to see if the TSB work was accomplished.
