I am posting this question for a friend. Has anyone ever run into trouble on a 64 1/2 center console not fitting properly? He says, it sits a little too high and is hanging up the shifter... Could the carpeting be causing some trouble???
There is a difference if the car is a convertible or hardtop. The convertible has three cuts on the console where it meets the carpet that allows it to fit properly over the center hump brace under the carpet. Or else it will tend to sit too high.
Which does your friend have? And is it a full lenth or air console? Both will fit okay in either situation but one will sit a tad higher than the other. He may just need to adjust forward or aft to get a best fit.
