Convertables & black leather

I'm debating a new convertable versus coupe. My wife and I seem to prefer black cars with black interriors. I'm leaning towards cloth seats rather than the leather with the convertable choice.

I used to own a 66 convertable in high school with a black vinyl interrior. Love the car but knew those seats got real hot in the summer with the top down.

Those of you with convertables, does the leather cause the proverbial third-degree burns in the summer or is the leather kinder to the skin than the vinyl?

Leather is much better than vinyl. Black is a bad news color for convertable seats, soaks up the sun's heat. I've got tan leather in my '05, The black center console cover gets hotter than hell if you park it in the sun.

I would think real hard before I got black seats in a convertable.

put the top up when its parked the seats never got extra hot in my black coupe during the summer.

I have a Black Vert GT with a black top and black leather interior. Will the seats get hot in the summer? Yes, most likely. Do I care? No, because it is an awesome combo. I get compliments, looks, and thumbs up on my car all the time because it has a certain "look".

But, you probably want a tan top and interior, right? J/k

I have leather in the coupe but in the vert no way, I am done with burning my legs on hot seats, Driving with the top down on a hot day the sides still get really hot and if you move in the seat, the sides get you. I like the blakc look but I am putting suede looking cloth and fabric for seats, still looks good and is functional...

Ah yes those were the days...burned arms on the top AND bottom.
