Hey, I'm new here. Long time Camaro fan. I currently own a '91 z convertible, and all I have to say is, that I'd never thought before that I'd say it, but I will be buying a Mustang. Early next year, I will be in the market for a 2005.

Anyway, my questions are what is the standard warrenty on a Mustang, does ford offer 0% APR or cash back/rebates or any other kind of incentive. Also, any sugestions for a newbie to read up on anythin related to this car? (I mean everything, I love doin my research)

Ford carries a 3 yr/36,000 mile warranty and you probably will not see anything like 0% on the 05 stang unless they are trying to get rid of them before the 06 comes out. As far as rebates, not likely unless you are in the military..Welcome aboard

Well looks like ford won. Being that I'm still a little mad a Chevy by the time I get old enough to afford a new Camaro they cancel the darn things.

Oh well so lets see what are the other options?
350Z nice but I'm not dropping 4k to get another 30hp out of it.
GTO.....2 ton beast...not really very GTOish.....I'll pass.
Magnum...nice motor but it's a WAGON c'mon I don't have kids yet.
Not to mention that in most of the 3/4 ton trucks if you want the nice motor you have to get the auto tranny....what king of crap is that?

So yeah after 9 years of being a SERIOUS camaro/firebird dork looks like I'm buying a Mustang when I get back from this deployment. I always liked to looks of the stangs, never liked they way they drove. Ford got this one spot on in my book. 3,400 lbs with a 53/47 wieght spread and 300hp out of the box. Thats speaking my language. Not to mention it comes with the 8.8 rear, the good tremec, and a 4 bolt block. Sound like a good pallet for some mods to me. I've got my 98z28 about as fast as it's ever going to be. It has a ton of miles on it and is starting to act like a Chevy(everthing breaking at once). Time for a new ride.

I have a major advantage though, I'm active duty military overseas so not only do I get $1000 off. I don't pay taxes (beyond title) nor do I take a dealer mark-up....I can order more or less straight from the factory. The Navy Exchange guy I talked to PROMISED $3000 under MSRP. I can't wait until Januarary.

I heard rumor that Ford may, I repeat MAY, offer a Mustang Loyalty reward in 2006 or 2007 on Mustang trade-ins. It's a plan that, if they introduce, will make public very shortly. It is designed to do this:

Ford realizes many people are holding out for the 05 instead of the 04. The further realize that many of those people are holding out for Verts, second model year (2006), and SE Mustangs.

The plan would give incentive to buy or lease a Mustang now, and in two years trade it in for a Mustang Loyalty Discount. This was mentioned in a stock meeting months back as one of several answers to invester concern about lingering inventory, not just on the Mustang. They essentially did something similar when they offer SVT products on a Lease, known as the PowerLease.

So, in closing, should Ford implement this plan, it's feasible that you could not only get an insane deal on an 2004, but get $1,000-$1,500 rebate on a 2006+ Mustang when you trade it in.

Again, this is not a set plan as of this writing. Something Ford has been toying with. Considering that it's October, it may never come to be.
