Good Evening,

I picked up a 92 LX convertible that my brother has had sitting in storage for the past 15 years. It needs a lot to include a paint job. Most of the gaps look pretty good except for this one on the driver's side next to the A-pillar. I was wondering if there are any adjustments that can be made to get this gap closed up a little. It looks like if the frame could come down a quarter of an inch I'd be good, but I can't imagine the windshield frame actually being adjustable. Thanks in advance.

I’m not familiar with the color matched feature editions. Is that actually part of the frame, or some sort of trim over top of the frame?

That’s a piece of trim that goes over the skeleton of a windshield frame .

That’s what it looked like to me, but wasn’t sure.
Maybe he can just adjust the trim if the door is already aligned properly.

That trim slides up to come off. There are some hidden screws behind the rubber seal on the door glass side. ( can't remember how many...I'm thinking 3 ). The rubber is usually glued down so be careful. Been a while since I tore down a convertible fox.

Thanks, do you remember if these are set screws that can be adjusted, or do they screw through the frame itself and have no adjustment in them? I'm just trying to determine if trying to adjust these is even possible before attempting to take anything apart because like you said there is a lot of delicate rubber on here that I would like to avoid messing up if at all possible.

Looks a little wide at the top and narrow at the bottom to me but the front gap looks decent.... Passenger side looks good all the way around.

They are self tapping screws. Phillips head.

I blew the passenger side off my old car doing over 160mph. I had the front of the top taped down but hadn't installed the screws in those pieces.

Now that I think about it....its the track for the rubber seals that have the screws. I don't think there are screws in that particular part. If I remember correctly it just slides down from the top. If you pull down on it the thing might just slide down to where you want it.

@a91what has some loose ones I think, maybe he can shoot a quick pic but I think they have 4 or 5 short screws under the rubber,

The side trim around the windshield just pops into place.. you can likely grab it and pull down and it will move

How fragile is that side trim? Does he need to be extremely careful? If memory serves, it's not reproduced.

I would not say fragile, it's all metal just be sure not to bend it
