convertible question

hey guys i found a 02 convertible that the guy is parting out and i was interested in the convertible top. I have heard that they are compatible 94 up to 03 is this true. he also said he wants to pull it out with all the brackets still attached will that bolt directly into a 95 or is it best to strip the top off and install it on my bracketry. Thanks in advance.

Personally, I think you'll be better just buying a replacement top. There's a lot of staples and such which need to be pulled, and the chance for damage is high. When you remove your old top you can cut it off to alleviate some of the hastle. I think that the money you may save wouldn't make up for the hastle and extra time you'd spend doing it. That is, of course, you can get the top from the spare car for $50, or something.
