Convertible seat riser in a Fastback

I thought I saw somewhere that you can use the convertible seat risers in place of the single left and right risers to add stability. Can this be done in my 67 FB and is it worth it?

If you are going to use real vert. seat risers you have to add the inner rocker as well. However Dynacorn is now making a one piece like a vert except it will work with standard inner rockers. Is it worth it? depends on what you want to do with the car. I'm doing it to mine xcept with full vert rockers, torque boxes and frame rail gussets.

how much differnce is there in the floors between a vert and fb/cp? comparing the pictures it just looks like there is a little trimmed off the back by th tq boxes. I ask because on my 67fb the rockers need to be replaced so i was considering the vert style to replace them with the one piece seat riser. The PO already purchased a one piece floor just never stuck it in. Will the cp/fb floor work without a lot of fitting with the vert rockers?

Externally there's the big steel plate bolted across the trans-tunnel, also the outer rails/rockers are considerably thicker/wider. Internally the seat riser is a one-piece unit with heavy gauge steel that saddles over the top of the tunnel. For that reason the carpet and the consoles are different on verts.

If you're having to put in rockers and floor pans anyway, probably torque boxs too, you may as well use the vert pieces. We did this on the 68 Fastback, without changing floor pans and it was not really all that difficult. You can also use the vert underfloor pieces, but you loose a lot a room in the tunnel for things like exhaust and driveshaft clearance. Not a big deal, you just have to be a little creative with the exhaust.

I've got a 3-inch aluminum drive shaft and a pair of 2.5-inch pipes in there, it is pretty tight, but I know folks that have two 3-inch pipes too. Of course that is the limit, they've got 1/4 or less space around them and many exhaust shops cannot do that kind of work. You'll need/want an expert/artist for 3-inch exhaust and a bigger shaft in a vert.
