convertible top fluid

I'm guessing you use hydrualic fluid

Just kidding, but that's a good question, I haven't changed mine since I bought the car in 1986. I just chimed in here to subscribe so I wont miss the answer :D

I got this from another forum:

The top motor is behind the rear seat. Remove the rear seat cushions to access the motor. The motor/reservoir has a fill plug, either rubber or metal. Remove the plug and fill the reservoir with type FA automatic transmission fluid. Replace the plug and run the top up and down to bleed the system. Repeat the process until the top works smoothly. If the top is still sluggish, it is possible that the hydraulic cylinders are defective, and would need to be replaced.
