I was putting my top up today heard a REALLY loud pop, then a rattle while driving home. Come to find a peice snapped, not a clue what this peice is called but how do I get a replacement?? I included pictures. It appers to be a brace for the bracket the lift motor attaches to. Also anyone know where to get new convert frames for an 89? And if so would it already include this peice?

You can take it off and have it welded?

I would say a junk yard. I've looked at frame parts before because I wanted to change my frame to a 93 so I could have a headliner, all I was able to find where complete frames. I don't think you'll be able to find replacement peices with new.

find a top at the junkyard. Bring a quality, note the word quality punch. Punch out the roll pins and then undo the bolts that hold the part in place. Voila. I have done this to repair several verts. Welding will not work, neither will epoxy or JB weld. Occasionally you can find vert parts on ebay as well.

best take that kind of talk to the classifieds before you get an infraction.
