Some junkie fked up my convertible top and now has a nice 10" gash in it. It will be replaced by insurance, but am wondering if I should upgrade to a cloth top and pay the difference (I'm assuming there will be a $$$ diff.). I live in BC Canada :canada:where it rains A LOT and am wondering about the durability compared to the regular vinyl version as well as fit n finish, maintanence/cleaning etc - I'm kinda digging the matt finish as well of the cloth - anyone either has converted or has a cloth top have an opinion?? thx a bunch guys!

Sorry to here about the top!

I prefer the look of the cloth over vinyl so I ordered mine with the cloth top. The option was only a couple hundred bucks (August '06). I knew being a garage kept "weekend toy" it wouldn't be exposed to the elements too much.

After 4 1/2 years it still looks like brand new and is drum tight. It went through one of those super high pressure car washes once (don't ask) and no leaks.

A lint roller works fine for getting up pollen and dust. I use "RAGG TOPP" cleaner and fabric protectant (about $30 US at Amazon) once in awhile.

Good luck!
