I am debating on getting my car painted shortly, and was debating on changing my front end to 91-93 specs at the same time. The 91-93 have a wider wheel well opening and I have a rubbing problem up front ( I have 17" Bullitt wheels and 245-45-17 tires). I don't want to ruin a fresh paint job, especially when I am reminded of how much a decent paint job is going to run.
Here's what I need (If I need anything else, let me know)

L/R fenders
L/R front of wheel ground effects
L/R Front Inner Fender Splash Shields

Has anybody here done this on their 87-90 GT? Where did you get the parts from, and how much did it cost?

My brother in law is in the process of doing the same thing right now to his car. Thus far the fenders were purchased from an aftermarket supplier, and the fender extensions were purchased from Rusty Acres auto parts in Jacksonville, FL. 1-800-782-4885 and talk to Tom (tell him Scott told you to call and maybe it'll save you a few pennies) Other than that, I think he checked the splash shields and said they'd work.

I'm thinking about doing this myself, be sure to keep this post updated on what happens.

http://www.blueovalindustries.com has fenders fairly cheap, but I have no idea how they fit.

I'm considering doing this to my 87 since I too have rubbing issues with my bullitt wheels and 245/45/17 tires. My old 255/40/17 tires did not rub on the fender extension, but the new ones do and have rubbed the paint off. The part that is wider is the extension below the belt molding in front of the wheel, exactly where mine is rubbing. If your fenders are in good condition otherwise, you can just have the bottom of the fender part bent or cut back and use the newer fender extension to cover up the alteration. But I would recommend getting some used fenders from a 91-93 V8 or 4 cyl if available to you. They are the same fenders and the fit of the Ford ones is much better than most all of the aftermarket ones.

Good luck!

Update on the fender situation. I stopped over by his garage last night and we test fit the fenders and splash shields. They will need to be trimmed a bit to fit correctly, which most will be hid by the ground effects pieces. If it was my car, I'd get the correct parts, but it's his car........
There you go everyone!
