Cool Flex heater hose

I'd like change the heater hoses and put some cool-flex hoses on. I assume I have to drop the heater box to do this. Do I have to open the box to do this ?

No, but you do have to remove box to remove the old hoses and install the new ones. Pain in the "kokas" to do.

I have the red heater hose on mine from the previous owner. I hate it but I don't know if I hate it enough to deal with the hassle. I am tempted to just put braided sleeves on them up to the firewall.

not that bad. I rebuilt mine and installed it in less then 1/2 a day.
