Coolant leak coming from hole in firewall

I'm leaking coolant out of a hole in my firewall on the passenger side. Its pretty bad as half the level in my overflow tank is gone after driving it one day. It drips down onto my headers and makes smoke. What is this hole for?
Its below the supply and return hoses that go into the firewall. This hole has is right behind the cylinder head and it has a rubber grommet. Also there is not any coolant inside the car, the carpet is not wet, the a/c works and heater works.

looks like its time to replace it

its not TO bad, i did the one in my old '01.
have to remove the dash and disconnect the heater and a/c lines in the engine compartment.

i wonder why this happened all of a sudden, i drove it a few days ago and didn't have this problem

For now you can bypass the heater core so you dont have to worry about it leaking everyehere.
