After I run my 89 a small amount of coolant will leak out from a hole under the heater core connections. I see it coming out and its about 9 inches or so below the heat core connection.

What would this be? Is it some type of over flow. I know I don't have to much coolant. It only leaks about 1/3 of a cup everytime.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

If it is coolant, then the heater core is leaking into the heater box and out the drain hole for the evaporator. If it is just clear water, it is condensation from the evaporator and is perfectly normal.

There is more than one reason to fix that as quick as possible too. When coolant leaks at that spot it can drain down onto the bolts that hold the started in place. The starter bolts are steel, the bell housing is aluminum. Guess what happens next? The bolts literally weld themselves in place making the starter extemely difficult to remove. Been there, fought that. My starter bolts are now very well lathered up in anti-seize compound.

have you actually pressure tested it and verified that its not a pinhole in a heater hose line? if its a small mist then it could puddle up and form a drip....

or like mentioned before.. heater core leaking into the evap case..
