I am pretty sure my coolant temp sensor has gone bad, but I want to make sure before I replace it. Does anyone have a resistance range for this sensor? There is probably one in the Ford Service manual but mine is at my parent’s house and I am at school. Or could someone measure their sensor and tell me what they get. Mine measured 69.1Kohms.
Thanks

I am thinking there should be two sensors. One for the computer and one for the gauge. A resistance sensor cannot be shared, but I only know of one coolant temp sensor. The guage reads fine but the car is running very rich and is putting out code 56.

You are thinking of the ECT sensor. Its on the passenger side of the intake screwed into one of the black steel heater hose lines toward the front of the engine. It has 2 wires, the other one for the guage has one. Resistance for an ECT sensor is about 30 ohms, engine cold. And 0 ohms with the engine hot. These specs are from measuring known good ones.
