I have a 98 GT and my cooling fan wont come on. The fan connector melted last week and it stopped working so i ordered a new one along with a new fan and thermostat. I installed everything yesterday and filled up with new coolant. The fan still didn't come on, even when i turn on the a/c... So after hours of messing around under the hood, i found that unplugging the connector from the driver side coolant temperature sensor made the high speed fan come on and it'll stay on until i shut the car off or plug it back in. I went to the dealer and got a new connector since i thought the old corroding one was the problem, but that still didnt fix it. Any ideas on what kind of problem this is? It seems like its something electrical, which im not very good at.. School starts next month, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

The fan won't come on right away. It has to get up to operating temperature 1st. Did you let it run for about 15 minutes before you checked it?

I let it run for longer than that. Until the temp gauge almost gets to hot. Still nothing

What about the coolant sensor? Replaced it or just the connector? The coolant temp sensor is what tells the fan to come on.
