For those who have similar pressure problems:
I solved my system pressure problem by installing another rubber gasket to the bottom of my old radiator cap. I bought a large rubber fender washer, and cut some of the center out to slip it on to the bottom of the cap. The rubber fender washer was $0.85 from Home Depot.
My temperature is still fluctuating. I will work on that in the future.
