replaced my water pump t-stat and checked the heater core(it is good) and now the car has been idling for about 30 mins and it wont heat up. Gets to the mark above 130 and then stops. I put a 195 degree t-stat in it. Is this a problem? Heat wont work either. Dunno If I jacked something up or not. It has all water in it right now. put some flushing stuff in it and Im going to drain it and mix the antifreeze and water for it.

Sounds like you have air in the system to me. Did you do anything to bleed the cooling system after refilling it?

I think I figured out the problem. I think I put the damn t-stat in backwards!! I put the bridge toward the engine rather then the radiator.

sounds like you have air in it still. Sometimes the system seems near impossible to get the air out. try pulling your coolant temp gauge and filling a little there or crank car over a bit. of course don't let it fire so pull coil wire.
