COP question

Just got plugs changed and noticed that one of the screws that holds the COP in place on the plug is broke off. I imagine the screw was cross threaded and then broke off. Will this hurt to drive the car with the COP just sitting on the plug and not secured down over the plug. The car seems to run ok.

I had just had a 1.7L KB installed and when I got the car home and started looking at things I notice that the on COP (third back on drivers side) was loose. The screw was not all the way down was just sitting in the COP broken off. The car seemed to run good. The screw actually threads into the aluminum intake of the KB. I hoping that a good shop will be able to get it out and have it repaired.

I'd agree, but take it back where? He didn't say anything about having it in for service anywhere...
Well he said that he "just got plugs changed" which kinda sounds like he had it done by someone else. He also stated that he discovered the broken bolt which also implies that he was not present during the plug installation. I guess I just assumed he had it done in a shop...?

It was done at the shop that installed the KB. I am not sure if the bolt had bottomed out or what. The instructions said to use the same OEM bolts that came with the COP. All I know is that it will have to be drilled out and fixed. I wasn't around when this part of the install was done. I wish I was.
