Ok, why was my cops thread closed? It was a thread for people to voice opinions/experiences they had with cops, good or bad. Can't people voice there opinions, is that too much to ask? I think we all can handle an intelligent conversation. Nothing was wrong with the cops thread if you ask me. I'm not trying to tell you how to run SN but come on mods gives us a little freedom this is America or did Bush take over SN?

The mods are really nice to us, there are a LOT more strict forums.

But anyways.. 99% of Cops are really great guys, it's just the very few that give them all a bad name.. Those guys are always out risking their lives for our safety! Brave men and women

I agree. I was just curious why that thread was closed, that’s all.

Have you ever had a cop fly by you with out lights on going probably 15-20mph over the speed limit? How many times do you think they get caught for speeding? Or when they are ridding your bumper, I thought there is a law for following close. I will ask my friend who is a cop. Again, lots of cops are good and they are out for a good cause. It’s just the select few that can set a bad image for a few people.

Have you ever thought that there are a lot of those good cops on these boards that read about all the cop bashing that goes on, like in your last thread? What would you think if you just got back from a day of serving the public for better good, and hopped on the net to read about mustangs, and you see:

98% OF COPS ARE DICKS!!!!!

I bet that would make you feel good about what you've dedicated your life too wouldnt it?

Sure. Ive had cops haul ass by me, but for all I know they're doing something more important than the minor inconvenience they caused me. How do you know their lights werent malfunctioning and they were on the way to an accident? If you really have a problem with cops riding your ass, pull over and let them go by. try to find out what # the car is, most of them have a designated #. Go to the Dept. and report them.

Until you've walked a mile in their shoes........

I got pulled over once when I was 17. I did nothing out of the norm, driving in my automatic 93 cavailer. He riddled me with questions about why I was sweaty and I told him I'd just been playing soccer with my friends.. he continued with what are you doing now and blah blah, and I stayed as nice and respectful as I could. He took my license and registration and about 20 damn minutes later he came back and said "have a nice day"

This really got to me, it took at least 30 minutes out of my day and made me lose alot of respect for the local police department.

I have so many of these things I coudl go on for ever. The biggest annoyance to me personally is when a cop is on the highway and you are going the MAX speed limit in the fast lane on cruise control.. they tail you for 20 seconds then pass by at about 20 mph faster than whats posted. One night in particular he spot lighted me the whole time passing by me.. and it just gets to me that these things happen when good citizens are doing the RIGHT thing. But we are in an inconvienance of the "almighty" attitude SO many cops carry around with them.

Sure I've been pulled over before, but I'll be the first to admit I deserved it. Seeing the amount of crap that law enforcement officials have to put up with gives me some understanding as to why they act the way they do sometimes. For the most part, they've always been respectful of me and were just doing their jobs and to say they're all "dicks" is just ignorant and very unfair. Drive the speed limit, don't be agressive and don't "stunt" around town and you won't have these guys coming after you! And if you do get pulled over, lose the attitude and be respectful of them because chances are, you're in the wrong whether you know it or not...

dude whats with the picture in your sig?? It takes up my whole screen haha

btw I wanted to comment on how you handled the situation in your thread but it got closed. You definitely handled the situation well - being respectful to police officers is the best way to either get off scott free or lessen the punishment for whatever it is you've done. Good job, and nice car!

You know the first 20 threads I saw about cops I could take but the 21st one is going to break me. Seriously, why do people that own sports cars (which 100% of them are juiced up abit) bitch and complain about cops? People know damn well that if they put on an exhaust it is going to be illegal, or if they put tint on their car, it is going to be illegal, or better yet if they drive 5-10 mph over the speed limit, IT IS ILLEGAL. Sure I live in Michigan, and I have alot of things done to the car that are illegal, but that is a gamble that I take everyday. Face it, we are categorized into a group that is prone to getting attention from cops, if it is something you can't handle, trade the car in and get something different. I guess too, that for some people owning a mustang means that you are impervious to getting pulled over, and allowed to act like a whiney little *****.
