Hey there, I am wanting to buy some "racing" seats and have a few questions. The dimensions for the seat are 22" wide 23" deep and 35" tall. Now I am 6'3" abbreviated 390 pounds.. so will I even be able to fit in these? Will these fit well in my 96 gt? Lastly.. I want something to keep my planted while I'm in the twisties.. but I am going with just black leather with red stitching on them.. hopefully these won't look too ricey in my car.. right? I know their not corbeau cr-1 seats.. but I think they'll do the job.. does anyone else have the cheapies in their cars? Do they ride well on long trips? Do regular setbelts still work correctly with these?

dont buy knock offs, their made cheap and if you get into a accident the back support can give away. If those are anything like the racing seats i had i doubt youd fit in them. Im 5'11 145lbs and fit perfect, my friends who weighed about 25 to 45lbs more than me bitched about them...

Oh, that's good info there. I appreciate it.. I was worried about strenght as well.. I guess I will need to be looking for a set of cr-1 wides. I was just hoping these cheapies would work. I was told wides accomadate 40 inch waist.. hopefully I can shed some weight to fit in those.. so I guess its a no go on the eBay knock offs.. thanks for the info.

From a fellow mustang lover you need to make some serious decisions about your weight. For your height you need to be aiming for no more than 240lbs for an average build (BMI of 30). Get your diet and exercise plan worked out with some professionals (go see your Doctor, followed by working with a nutritionist and a personal trainer) and start shedding those pounds. Best of luck with trying to trim a couple pounds- shedding that weight will really open up your seat options.

^ good advice.. FWIW, I'm a snug fit in a CR1 wide and I'm 6'2" 235 lbs (I wear 38" pants).

I appreciate it but with being a over the road truck driver, I sleep and drive. I work on my foods but without proper exercise, it doesn't go so well. So I'm kinda of at a stand still there.. so anyone know of any fat proletarian racing seats... Heh..
