do i need a specific length pushrod for e7te's with 1.7 rocker arms, or will ones the same length as stock suffice? to take advantage of the 1.7's what length works best on a mild application? thanks.

You won`t know for sure until you set the rockers up.The stock length might be ok OR you may need longer ones.
May have to use some shims as well.

Stock pushrods are 6.250".If these are too short a 6.300" length should do it.
