I was wondering what would be a good street manifold for a 5.0...I was looking at the Comp Cams upper intake...I've heard the box type manifold hurts your low end, but they promise 20hp with no loss of low end...You know how promises go though...lol. I was also checking out the pro.products manifold...My car has header back exhaust w/ no cats...The lower geared ford racing manual opcorn:tranny & 3.73s, MSD 6AL Ignition box & system...Also an intake...It's been rebuilt and I'm not sure if it's been bored or not...It has a stock cam also...I'm looking to go with a manifold I can bolt on now and then upgrade my cam later with nothing no more radical than an F303 cam or the Comp Cam I'm thinking about getting with the following specs...1,600-5,600 rpm...Duration Int.216 Ex.224 and Lift Intake .544" and Exhaust .555"

those intakes you listed WILL kill low end torque, dont care what comp cams claims. they're cheap because theyre plastic. just get a used eddy manifold or a TFS and youll be fine. with your mods youd be fine with a cobra intake

Unless you have hands like a 5 year old steer clear of the eddy intakes.

Going off your thread title and list of mods, get an Explorer intake. You can pick them up for $100-150 and they flow exactly like a Cobra or GT40.

Another vote for the Explorer intake. Inexpensive, reliable, and readily available.

I Installed a TFS Street heat Intake on my 306 Good power just a pain to install the upper intake! The back upper intake manifold to lower manifold nut is Very hard to get to and tighten, and I had to use an 1/2 inch spacer to raise the upper intake because the egr valve would not clear the BBK adjustable feul pressure regulator. I had a Ford Racing GT 40 intake, nice manifold, easy to install, but and expensive manifold! the Ford Racing Cobra is the same thing other than the upper manifold is cast and a lot better price. between the two my car seems to have a bit more torque and power with the TFS.

Explorer/cobra or a typhoon(edelbrock knock off) are great intakes for a tight budget.

Have a Eddy intake , no problems with install, just have to have the correct
wrenches . Had a GT40 intake. but prefer the Eddy more torque and mid range.

My $.02
