I know many have posted on wtf my car has a Lincoln engine in it but that is beside the point...... With it having an aftermarket cam and me still runnins speed density fuel injection could my problem with it running rich enough to choke it out and also causing it to bogg really bad when trying to go full throttle be al b/c of the cam or am I way off?

If it is the cam I will be fixing it in the next two weeks but I hate to keep throwing money at it and not being able to drive it. Gets kinda agrivating you know!!

Thanks,
Nate

Give some details on the engine specs. What cam is it? I know you have to be fairly carefull on what cam you are running with SD.

Thats just it I bought the engine second hand w/ around 2000 mi on it so I dont know what the specs are on it. It is a .040 bore w/ a non roller hydrolic cam and lifter set running the non ho firing order. all I know is that it has a non stock lift duration cam in it.

thanks
Nate

speed density depends on the engine vaccuum. the cam changes the vaccuum in the engine and it will throw things off. that's why not a lot of SD guys change their cam

I know that much already........ and that is not what I am asking. What I need to know is that if the cam is causing all of my problems or am I looking in the wrong place. Could it be something else ?

No one can tell you for sure if the cam is causing all of your problems. Obviously you know the cam will alter your vacuum, and you also know that the speed density system uses vacuum. That right there says you know it's going to cause problems of some kind. Sounds like you might consider either switching to MAF or perhaps getting a tuner to tune around it?

I know the whole spill about how speed density doesnt like a cam change and all of that. I do not know however what the problems it will entail if using a higher lift cam in a speed density car. Will it cause the car to run rich? Will it cause it to get very bad gas mileage? Will it cause a car to not start from flooding?
I have replaced the O2 sensors the map the coil the module the plugs act cts (both of them) and the tps the only ones I haven't changer are the iac valve and the egr valve. The car still boils out the smel of gas everytime I get into the throttle even if I am easing out into traffic and no gassing on it. So yall tell me am I even close to thinking it is the cam or am I way off?

Thanks,
Nate

If you can't provide cam specs, then no one can say if it is because of the cam...
What is your engine vac at idle? That may help clue folks in...

What worries me is that you mentioned a non HO firing order.
Is the ecu HO, and the cam is non HO?
This would cause fuel issues, and could be resolved with the proper cam. Proper meaning HO firing order.
